I would choose the scene from Chapter 6 of A Shore Thing entitled "No Hug" that would work well for a scene in a movie. Gia, Bella and Bender have just arrived at Neli's shore house for a 4th of July party. Gia had previously meet Neil at Tantastic, the tanning salon where she works. He had come in to get a nice tan before his party so he wouldn't be so pasty.
Gia is looking all ver for him at the party, asking people "where is Neil?" Finally someone tells her "he's upstairs in his room. Poor guy." She can't really figure out what the poor guy part was about, she brushes it off and goes up to find Neil in the second floor.
She looks in every door, accidently disturbing a few couples who were basically gettin' it on. Finally she gets to the last room only to find a blistered, lobsterfied, red as can be Neil laying in bed with nothing on but a face of pain and anguish.
He explains to her that after he had tanned at tantastic, he was anxious to get better results so he went home and sat out on his roof deck for the rest of the day until sunset, and by the next day he was like communist China.
Gia feels upset that Neil is in so much pain she wants to kiss him, but soon realizes that she is only making this worse for Neil, as her dangerous good looks are making him a very happy of a boy which hurt his man parts considering he liked to tan naked.
Neil wont even let Gia hug him to say goodbye because it phisically and emotionally pains him so bad when he releals to her that he is leaving the shore since his room mates will no longer take care of him, and he wont be able enjoy his time now that he is burnt chrispy from head to.... toe.
That is where the scene ends.
I enjoyed reading this scene, it was sad and humorious at the same time, and tragic because we can all (some what) relate to Neil with the sunburn form hell, even though most of us tan with at least a swimsuit on, and it just f**** up our vacation.
