Film review: Despicable Me

Gru (Steve Carell) is a criminal mastermind. He decides to use three orphaned girls: Margo (Miranda Cosgrove), Edith (Dana Gaier) and Agnes (Elsie Fisher) in a pawn to steal the moon, and to prove he's still got what it takes to be a super villain. In the end, however, Gru finds himself falling in love with the innocence of the young girls and their love.

Personally, I would not only recommend this film based on it's plot, but also because of the amazing animation. The plot its self is precious. It's obvious that the younger characters tend to steal Gru, who is never the less played brilliantly by Carell's (who managed the perfect German, French, British (indistinguishable) accent through the entire film (perfect for a super villain) thunder. This is a movie that is suitable for the entire family, even grandma and grandpa. This proved proved to me that your never too old to enjoy cartoons. I would highly recommend this movie.

SRP Progress

I am happy to report that I am currenrtly less stressed out about the Senior Research Paper.
Last night I finished the rest of Ellen Foster and my book notes and undelining. I know it helped me to read activally which helped me to understood main concepts and symbols from the novel.
My book was also an easy read and a topic I enjoyed reading about which really helped since I tend to slack off and become unintrested when it comes to reading the schools's required reading.
Today Mr. Wiseman finished reviewing the packet for our outline. I think it helps that we only have to start out by compleating half of the outline by the 24th, with the rest being dure the 31st.
I know my opinion will probably change in the near future about the paper, but at least everything is smooth sailing as of right now.

2010 Realizations

I would say that the most important person of 2010, for me was my Grandpa or Papa as us grandkids liked to call him. Only a week into Summer vacation my grandfater died after a 2 and a half year battle of illness. It was very hard on our entire family. Eariler in the year my uncle's family and ours clashed over a difference of opinion about posting "private family buisness" on facebook.
I wish I were making that up, but it's the truth.
Bitter words were exchanged and the fude only weakened my grandfater's health, in my opinion.
I wish I could say that we all came together as a stronger family in the wake of what had happened, but that didn't happen.
However, my mom, dad, and sister; Jenny have become closer as a unit. Jenny and I have made promices to one another that when we are adults, we will never let the same petty problems come between our family's. That is the best way that Jenny and I can honor our grandpa at this point in time.

Senior Year- Just another glorious fall day!

The first bell of the morning and there is already work to be done. Mr. Wiseman passed out a huge packet of information pertaining the dreaded Senior Research Paper. Personally I was thinking, DRAT, not another one! (C.P. Government was in the midst of a paper as well). On top of that I was thinking about collage applications, work, and because I am just like any other teenager, I was thinking about how this would hinder my social life and free time even more.
For the next 4 bells the SRP was basically the trending topic of the Senior class. Senior lunch was no different. My friends and I ranted about how this paper is gonna be so hard and that it's going to consume our lives, and that this paper was just a big crock of bull, and what not. It seemed like the SRP was all anyone could talk about because for the last few bells of the day, that all I heard anyone talk about as well.
However, now that I am writing this, I'm thinking about how Mr. Wiseman told us that this is basically the paper of all papers you will ever do and is basically the final test before we go to college on weather or not we can actually take initiative and read a novel all the way through and then write a great paper on it.
So I'm thinking to myself that maybe this is something to really take serious, considering I've been pretty chill when it comes to school the past few months,  more so then I ever should have.
All I know for sure that the SRP, for me, is something I wont slack on.
